The Farm "Le Farnie" extends over twelve hectares and is situated **0 metres above sea-level on the hills of Altomonte, in Calabria, near the national park of Pollino, between the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas. Most of the farmland is given over to olive trees, because the olives grown here produce excellent high-grade extra-virgin olive oil. "Le Farnie" is a certified organic farm. The "Antico Frantoio del Castello" is an artisan olive press situated on the farm. Here, the olives are picked by hand from the trees while still green and milled within *4 hours picking. Extra virgin olive oil is produced with the traditional millstone system and cold-pressed only once. This system produces fragrant extra-virgin olive oil that is full of flavour and has a distinct fruity taste.
