Physical Property:
Industrial standard activated alumina desiccant spheres are uniform and smooth porous forms of aluminum oxide that have high surface area and adsorbs vapors without any change in form. The spheres will not soften or disintegrate when immersed in liquids, and can be regenerated to its original adsorption efficiency once heated to ******0°C.
Application:
Activated alumina as a desiccant, will work by adsorption**-water in the air will stick to the alumina as the air passes through. The water molecules become trapped so that the air is dried out when passes through the filter. Regeneration process is achieved when activated alumina is heated and the spheres will let go of all the water stored in it,allowing them to be used over and over. Dew points to **0°Degree and lower may be achieved with activated alumina depending on dryer design and operating conditions.
Usages:
1. Used in gas drying of oxygen, textile and electronics industries
2. Desiccant of automation instrument air
3. Drying or decontaminating agent in fertilizer, petrochemical and other industries (dew point can be **0°C).
4. In air separation and compressed air industry, the variable pressure adsorption dew-point can be **5°C.
It can be extensively used in both heated desiccant air dryer and PSA(Pressure Swing Adsorption) air dryer.
