GENERAL
This specification, together with the accompanying General
Arrangement (GA) plan
No. Al-Tanz*****0.1 is intended to overview the construction of a
*7.5 m Aluminium
Catamaran.
Vessel will be build in accordance with rules, regulation &
guidelines set by the classification society.
Where detailed is not mentioned for any specific section, it should
be assumed to be of good
Shipbuilding practice and of high quality.
The vessel will be completed in every respect, including materials
and equipment not specifically
mentioned in this specification but which are required to complete
the vessel ready for happy &
luxurious cruising.
Vessel Type:
The vessel is to be a *7.5 meter Passenger Catamaran and will be
designed for carrying passengers
through Inland Rivers as well as Coastal area with following key
features & capacity
· Main Deck : **0 Person (Geared Seats or Lie Flat Seat as per
client requirement)
· Upper Deck : *0 Person (Geared Sets or Lie Flat Seats as per
client requirement)
· Sun Deck : *0 Person
· 3 Crew Rooms Accommodating 6 Crews
· Cafeteria on Main Deck
· Crew Mess
· Common Toilets & Washroom : 6 Units
· Site Seeing Deck
The vessel will be built of Aluminium construction & of Twin
Hull powered by two engines.
In addition to the above configuration features, the vessel will
have design and operational capabilities
as follows:
a) Good life expectancy for a minimum of *0 years, subject to good
husbandry of the vessel in
accordance with manufacturers recommendations;
b) Good sea-keeping abilities to enable the vessel to operate in
any weather condition at river/
coastal area and to maintain good forward speed in bad weather
conditions;
c) High operational/technical availability, system redundancy and
ease of maintenance;
d) Good manoeuvrability; the ship will be able to return to harbour
safely even in the
complete failure of steering system
e) Minimum Level of Vibration (Virtually Undetectable by
Passengers) & Noise Level
(Virtually Undetectable by Passengers)
f) Good steering ability enabling excellent bearing at course; and,
Arrangement in General:
The vessel is to be built according to: General Arrangement drawing
no. Al-Tanz- ****0.1dated
the *6 May ***3, and this specification overview. No need to
mention that this proposed design shall
be modified according to owners choice & Specification.
Propulsion and machinery will be arranged in accordance with the
appropriate drawings.
Wheelhouse visibility sectors will be arranged to give good
all-round observation.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS/OPERATION
General:
The vessel will be designed as a *7.5 meter Catamaran Ferry, with
features and characteristics
generally as described in Clause B above for its intended use.
Manoeuvring:
At low speed the vessel will, in addition to going fore and aft, be
able to rotate around **0°
approximately within twice & half of its own length.
Self Righting:
The vessel will be of self-righting type, enabling the vessel to
return back to its original position when
turned **0 Degree in either athwart ships or fore-aft movement.
Safety and Evacuations:
Escape routes and emergency exits will be located to minimize the
time taken to evacuate the vessel
and will be arranged to provide easy access for the crew. All the
evacuation,escape and safety drawings
will be the builders/designers responsibility and will be in
accordance with the requirements of the
relevant approving authorities.
