The major advantage of a nine-layer blown film line is capable
to split film layers into thin ones. It improves barrier
performance, as well as the ability for the film to be thermoformed
and more uniform gauge. Sealant layers can be thinner, which
increases the likelihood of down gauging and cost reduction. These
thinner layers can also reduce film curling, a common problem with
five- and seven-layer nylon films.
