Itons Screw presses provide an easy to operate and maintain
dewatering system. It can be used in the same applications where
belt presses, centrifuges, and filter presses have traditionally
been used, as well as in more traditional screw press applications
such as those in the stillage, sludge, and pulp & paper
industry.
Dewatering is continuous and is accomplished by gravity drainage at
the inlet end of the screw and then by reducing the volume as the
material being dewatered is conveyed from the inlet to the
discharge end of the screw press. Proper screw design is critical,
as different materials require different screw speeds, screw
configurations, and screens in order to dewater to a high outlet
consistency while maintaining an excellent capture rate.
Screw press can be used in an extremely wide variety of
liquid-solid separation, or dewatering applications. It provide
higher cake solids than competing dewatering equipment while being
easier to operate and maintain. Completely engineered skid mounted
systems are available in numerous sizes.
