This is the same 6.5 gallon fermenter that comes with all of
our wine making equipment kits, . The total volume on this
fermenter is6.5 gallons and the ring on the inner side of the
pail marks 6 US gallons.Higher gravity beers create much more
blow off volume that can push out of the air lock. So I got this
and I've never had a problem.
Also, if you brew a little more than 5 gallons, anticipating
sediment loss, etc. you may want to brew 6 gallons.
