AAAC - All Aluminum Alloy Conductor

** Construction:

The alloys referred to have higher strength but lower conductivity than pure aluminium. Being lighter, alloy conductors can sometimes be used with more advantages in place of the more conventional ACSR; having lower breaking loads than the latter, their use becomes particularly favourable when ice and wind loadings are low.

** Application:

As regards aluminum, the wires of this alloy have a double tensile strengh (greater than *0Kg/mm²), its electrical conductivity is *5% lower (*3% instead of *1%) and the weight is the same. By making use of these characteristics, in many cases, an alloy conductor can be replaced the Aluminium conductor steel reinforced with a similar installation cost.
