Aluminium Silicate Spheres
particles possess a honeycombed structure of closed-cell voids
encased in a vitrified glassy outer shell. Off-white to grey in
colour, the material is lightweight, inert, and thermally
stable.
Aluminium Silicate Spheres are
used primarily as low density aggregate, substituting sand
in lightweight plaster and
cement products. The materials porosity also imparts good heat
insulating properties and the fact that it is completely
non-combustible makes it an excellent additive in fireproof
mortars.
