The ASTM E**9 fire resistance *-hour test for building color steel plates is an important test used to evaluate whether the fire resistance performance of color steel plates in fire conditions can meet specific requirements. So do you know some things to know before the test?
 
Things to know before ASTME**9 test:
Test equipment and environment:
Furnace: The furnace used in the test can provide heating conditions that meet the standard requirements and produce a specific temperature curve. The temperature curve is one of the key factors in the test and specifies the temperature to be reached at different time points.
Thermocouple: Used to measure the temperature in the furnace and different parts of the color steel plate. The layout of the thermocouple needs to be strictly in accordance with the standard requirements to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement.
Environmental conditions: The test environment needs to be stable to avoid external factors from interfering with the test results.
 
Test process:
Sample preparation: Select representative color steel plate samples, and the size and specifications of the samples should meet the requirements of ASTM E**9 standard.
Install the sample: Install the color steel plate sample in the test equipment, ensure that the sample is firmly installed and has good contact with the test equipment to simulate the actual use in the building.
Heating process: Heat the furnace according to the time-temperature curve specified in the standard to gradually increase the temperature in the furnace. During the heating process, the temperature change of the color steel plate and other related parameters need to be monitored in real time.
Observation and recording: During the test, closely observe the state of the color steel plate, including whether there is deformation, peeling, cracks, etc., and record them. At the same time, record the temperature change of the back-fire surface of the color steel plate, the flame penetration and other information.
 
Evaluation indicators:
Fire resistance time: The most important evaluation indicator is the time that the color steel plate can maintain its fire resistance under standard fire conditions. For the *-hour fire resistance test, the color steel plate needs to maintain its structural integrity and thermal insulation (if applicable) within 2 hours, that is, no serious deformation, collapse, flame penetration, etc.
Fire resistance integrity: Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of building partition components to prevent flames and hot gas from penetrating or flames from appearing on the back-fire surface for a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire.
Fire resistance and thermal insulation: Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of building partition components to keep the back-fire surface temperature from exceeding the specified value for a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire
