there are different types of dates, where Medjoul is considered the king of dates.
 
Within the Medjoul type, there are different categories, which basically differ by the percentage of skin separation, i.e. as much the skin separation is lower, the fruit is considered higher quality.
 
The best would be Super Juicy or Bonbon type, which has 0% skin separation, high content of sugar and smooth skin.
 
Availability of this type is quite limited, and is sold mainly in the beginning of the harvest season, i.e. September-October.
 
After the juicy, you get the Premium (the samples you got in Berlin) and choice quality grades.
 
As for packaging, it differs as you can see on the attached, and can be Taylor made to yr. needs, depending qty, i.e. pre-planned program.
 
Dates in general are stored and transported at **8⁰c, and by that you have a shelf life of 1 year, between one harvest to another (taking place in about 2 month period).
 
Recommended temperature for retail or household storage would be 2⁰c, kept in cool and dry place.
