Still, there is usually one bathroom in your home that needs cabinetry. Here is how bathroom cabinets compare to kitchen cabinets:

Bathroom and kitchen cabinets have plenty of similarities, especially when it comes to materials, construction and finishes. Many of the options that are available for kitchen cabinets are also available for bathroom cabinets.

The major difference between bath and kitchen cabinets is size. Bathroom cabinets typically are both shorter and shallower than kitchen cabinets.

The most common type of bathroom cabinetry is a vanity cabinet, which resembles a sink base cabinet in a kitchen. However, base cabinets in the kitchen are typically *4 inches deep and *4½ inches high, while vanity cabinets are usually *1 inches deep and range from *1½ to *4½ inches in height. “We are seeing a lot of customers using *4½” high in master bath settings,” says Rick Yohn of Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry.
