This coal is mined from mines located in the central region of Cundinamarca and Boyacá, in Colombian territory. This raw material for the production of Coke is mined through shafts (tunnels) located on the side of the Colombian mountains.

The stock piling centers are located near Bogota (Colombia) and can be transported by road to the ports in the Colombian Caribbean or to the ports on the Pacific Ocean, principally the port of Buenaventura. It is of very high calorific value and low to medium volatility, which is of interest to the principal steelworks of Europe, Asia and America.
