What
does Polyester
(PES)mean?
A type of fibre known for it’s
strength, dye affinity and high luster. Polyester is derived from
coal, air, water and oil. Polyester is well known for being blended
with cotton to create a fabric (polyester-cotton blend) that is
used in many different materials today including denim.
What is
Cotton? Cotton is a natural fiber harvested from the
cotton plant. It is one of the oldest fibers under human
cultivation, with traces over 7,**0 years old recovered from
archaeological sites. Cotton is also one of the most used natural
fibers in existence today, with consumers from all classes and
nations wearing and using it in a variety of applications.
Polyester (PES)
Thread A durable sewing material that gained
popularity in ***0s fashion, polyester thread is thread made from
polyester, which is a petroleum-based synthetic material. This type
of thread may be appropriate for many purposes, and is commonly
used for general sewing, quilting, and embroidery. It can also be
used for adding fabric during upholstering. Polyester thread comes
on many differently shaped spools in a variety of
colors.
