The third generation of Jinghong CMTS is developed according to DOCSIS3.0 and C-DOCSIS protocol. There are Chassis CMTS, outdoor CMTS, D-node and other forms of productions，all of which are collectively referred to as the D3 series.
Adapting incorporates channel bundling technique, D3 series has as much as*6 QAM downstream channels with 1.1Gbps data rate and 4 QPSK/QAM upstream channels with a maximum of **0Mbps data rate. D3 downstream channel can be flexibly configured to data channel or IPQAM channel.The data interfaces include not only ***0Mbps port (RJ*5), but also ***0Mbps SFP. In addition, it has three layer routing function and perfect QoS mechanism which enables them to be adapted to various environments and different strategies of operators.
   Due to the high bandwidth of D3 and its perfect QoS, D3 CMTS are quite suitable for transmission on IPTV or VOD video service . What’s more, the extremely low price can greatly reduce the cost of operators so that they can achieve extra value to their inherent HFC network.
    There are three ways to manage D3. the first one is to login on the machine through the Telnet, then use the command line (CIL) to assign configuration management; the second one is remote login to the equipment through Web. The last one is the network management software based on QAM protocol.
D3 series are compatible with DOCSIS1.0/1.1/2.0/3.0 standard Cable Modem.
JH-F***6(outdoor CMTS) is the wild type of D3 series. They are deployed in optical node and can be installed at chassis in buildings, shared boxes and even walls. Besides all the core functionality and performance of D3 series, this outdoor CMTS has more RF interfaces so as to connect to the existing equipment more conveniently. It is fanless, waterproof , dissipate heat by chassis and can realize＂quiet operation＂. The data interface can be connected to both Ethernet and EPON. As to the RF port, there are 4 TV IN connecting TV signals from the optical receiver, 4 RF OUT connecting the HFC.
Outdoor CMTS transferred the mixture of data signals and TV signals from the front end plant room to the optical node, which, reduced the uplink "funnel", and lowed the noise. operators can now cover and access all users rapidly without changing the original network,
