Expanded Clay/Shale : due to their high porosity, the light weight materials obtained has good strength and low thermal conductivity. The surface of the lumps is hard like ceramic; this layer gives to the finished product high strength and low water absorption. Such materials are mainly used in large quantities in building , water filtration, insulation, agriculture.
