Flash dryer is a pneumatic system used to dry powder, flaking and heat sensitive products requiring the removal of free moisture, now it has been found wide applications including wood fiber, sawdust, powder, granulate, pasty materials, filter cake in such fields as biomass, foodstuffs, chemicals, pharmaceutical, building materials and plastics industry etc.

 

Where total dispersion of the product in a heated gas stream can be achieved with a significant increase in evaporative rates, flash dryers are preferred. The dryer offers the flexibility to use any heat medium, reduce heat energy consumption while increasing final product quality. The capital cost is generally lower and maintenance is limited to such components as fans and rotary valves.
