Antimicrobial Island Wound Dressing contains Microban a
broad-spectrum antibacterial agent that promotes wound healing,
establishes a barrier preventing transmission of moisture and
microbes and is an excellent alternative to Silver Dressings at a
lower cost.
Its 4 layers provide optimum care of wound:
First layer:A non-absorbent, non-adhering layer which contacts
the wound contains Microban anti-bacterial Agent.
The second layer is a semi-permeable (liquid impermeable, gas and
water vapor permeable) polyurethane film allow gases to vent but
render liquids (wound exudate) impermeable from the 1st layer to
the interior reservoir.
The third layer is an absorbent pad and forms the interior
reservoir.
The outer or fourth layer is bordered by a hypoalergenic
pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive.
