Licorice is a plant of the legume family, usually found in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan (Karakalpakstan), which in turn is famous for its medicinal properties. Licorice root is an extremely popular herb in Asian markets and is often used in Chinese traditional medicines. Today, licorice root is used in a wide range of products such as medicines, cosmetics, food and animal feed.

Licorice root is primarily harvested raw, with a period of four years when the plant is fully mature. The collected products are cleaned, dried and packed in our warehouses in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan.

Licorice roots are available in several forms: in bales, sliced, hand-picked, extracts, granules or powder. 

 

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, over thirty enterprises and companies with various forms of ownership are engaged in harvesting and processing licorice root in various regions of Uzbekistan. Traditionally, licorice root is most actively (due to climatic features) grown in the north-west of Uzbekistan - in Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region.
