Polycarbonate sheet is a versatile plastic medium, which lends
itself to a wide range of application in safety and security
glazing, machine guarding, barrel vault roofing, balcony
cladding, impact resistant covers, billboard, sound barrier
walls, carport, awning and so on.
Unlike most thermoplastics,
polycarbonate can bear large plastic deformations without cracking
or breaking. As the result, it can processed and formed at room
temperature using sheet metal techniques, such as forming bends on
a brake. Even for sharp angle bends with a tight radius, no heating
is generally necessary. This makes polycarbonate valuable in
applications where transparent or electrically non-conductive parts
are needed, which can not be made from sheet metal.
