Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and non-specialty grout. It was developed from other types of hydraulic lime in England in the early *9th century by Joseph Aspdin, and usually originates from limestone
 

• Structures with durabilities requirements e.g. costal and marine structures; sewage works; water retaining structures; pure water applications.
• Soil stabalization, massive structures where heat of hydration is of concern.
• Concrete with aggregates that are reactive to alkalis
