We are a group of artisans from Kenya who are looking for business opportunities and partnership in community development projects
We are based in western Kenyan region of Kisii. This is an area around Lake Victoria. We work with hundreds of artisans who make handicrafts from locally available raw materials. From western region we produce soapstone carvings and pottery. From central Kenya and Nairobi region we make basketry and jewelery. From coast region we produce leather products such as hand made beaded leather sandals , belts . From Eastern region we produce wood carvings and ornamental. Our artisans also make different types of oil paintings. Thus we target to reach all areas of crafts
We are a young enterprise formed in the year***8 and registered and incorporated as a limited company by the register of societies of the government of Kenya. We have on our side youth groups, women groups, self help groups and even individuals.
The enterprise has been created to assist the development of a sustainable local industry using locally available resources.
Our main concern is that our local artisans have been exploited and paid pea nuts for their products. We therefore need to directly benefit artisans, train them to be self reliant and productive, teach them new and better farming methods, dangers of drug abuse, HIV awareness , dangers of female genital mutilation, The importance of educating the children and protecting their rights, especially the girl child,the dangers of child labor, access to clean drinking water, Importance of preserving the environment by tree planting and keeping it clean and green. Encouraging planting of trees on already mined sites and with enough funds we plan to start providing shelter to the poor in our respective communities. Reach out to orphans and widows by acts of love.
Our Vision is to develop a unique product line that will meet the international market standards in terms of high quality and price. That by finding proper market for our products we will be able to sustain and develop our people long term and promote peace and co existence between different communities. This will create significant improvement in the lives of many.
We are a young company facing numerous challenges and obstacles but we are determined that through hard work creativity and focus in our projects we will be able to overcome.
We currently have a workshop at Tabaka in Kisii and are planning to broaden our sphere to Nairobi and Mombasa. Where we have temporary workshops. We are also working on a comprehensive website for our products and equip our office.
We will highly welcome any organization e g Fair trade organization, group, and even individuals who can partner with us in achieving this noble cause to improve, educate, and even save a life of the less privileged in our planet. We also believe with years of experience in the craft industry we can grow together and touch and change the lives of many through our united efforts.
Its for the above reasons that I personally , with others initiated this enterprise of showing love others.
