There was a first generation of this model that apparently had some issues and most of the reviews have stated that the current  self–cleaning litter box has knocked out most of the bugs. Some have also said that it also depends on how and where your water and electric hookups are, as far as convenience is concerned. It also depends on your cat’s temperament and desire for using a self–cleaning litter box. I am sure it has failed with some fussier felines.if your cat eats anything other than cat food, it will filter it efficiently. The  litter bowl has an improved rim which will take care of keeping the loose granules inside the bowl where they belong. Once in a while, the machine will miss a few pieces of waste and allows it to dry which will cause a smell, but for the most part this is not serious.

Most people like the cat cleaning mode feature on this Cat Box because it will clean the bowl with less detergent since it happens ten minutes after use and more often in that cycle.

Another couple of popular features for people who like environmentally-friendly product are the granules that are biodegrade and the new cartridge with less non-biodegradable parts than the old one.
