Technical specification of steel tape
Steel tape is used for armoring cable, such as power cable, optic cable, telecom cable, etc..
Generally, there are four kinds of steel tape widely used for armored cable
*-Annealed steel tape:
1— Appearance: Light and annealed
2— Thickness: 0.2mm—1.0mm
3— Width: ****0mm
4— Tensile strength: ******0Mpa
5— Elongation: *5% Min
6— ID: ******0MM
7— OD: ******0MM
*-Galvanized steel tape:
Normally, this kind of tape is being electric plated, therefore, its surface is quite smooth but zinc coating
is a bit low (Not more than **0g/m2), if high zinc coating is required, for instance, not less than **0g/m2,
the tape will be hot dip galvanized, the surface is smooth too, but we can see dapples in the surface.

2— Thickness: 0.2mm*1.0mm
3— Width: ****0mm
4— Tensile strength: ******0Mpa
5— Elongation: *0% Min
6— Zinc coating: Normal is *0g/m2 Min; *0g/m2 Min, *0g/m2 Min, **7g/m2
Min, **0g/m2 Min; if over **0g/m2 Min, it should be hot-dipped.
7— ID: ******0MM
8— OD: ******0MM
*-Varnished steel tape.
This kind of tape is also used for armored cable with following technical properties:
***-Appearance: Different color as per customers’ requirements, such as
yellow, gray, green, red, black, etc..
***-Thickness: 0.2mm*1.0mm
***-Width: ****0mm
***-Tensile strength: ******0Mpa
***-Elongation: *2% Min
***-ID: ******0MM
***-OD: ******0MM
***-Copolymer coated steel tape.
The copolymer coated steel tape, is usually used for optic cable or
communication cable for corrugated tube, its normal technical property
is stated as below:
Thickness of steel tape: 0.**5+/*0.**5mm
Tensile strength: **0N/mm2 Min
Elongation at break: *5% Min
Copolymer thickness: 0.**8+/*0.**3mm for both sides.
Bond strength: 3.5N/*5mm Min
Reel length: ***0M
Reel inner diameter: **2+/*2mm
Reel width: 1) **0—**0mm (width tolerance: +/*5mm)
2) ******0mm
