Thrust ball bearings consist: of two rings (upper and lower), the rolling elements (balls) and a separator. On the inner sides of both rings have grooves for rolling balls (rolling elements). Thrust ball bearing primarily intended for axial loads (loads directed parallel to the shaft axis). Thrust ball bearings are able to withstand the load smaller than roller bearings, but they can operate at much higher speeds, due to lower rolling resistance. For this reason, mechanisms of the high speed rotation, it is used thrust ball bearing, but if the velocity is small, the mechanism undergoes a large axial load, it is preferable to be roller bearings.
