Yttria-stabilized zirconia beads(Y-TZP), also known as YSZ beads, are a type of ceramic grinding media that are composed of zirconium oxide (ZrO2) with a small percentage of yttrium oxide (Y2O3) added to stabilize the material. The addition of yttrium oxide improves the strength and toughness of the beads, making them highly wear-resistant and fracture-resistant. YSZ beads are often used in high-energy milling applications, such as in the production of advanced ceramics, where high impact forces are required. They are also commonly used in the production of electronic materials, pigments, and coatings where the high-performance characteristics of YSZ beads are essential.
