GSM-R is an integrated special digital mobile communication system
wholly developed for railway communication. Based on the GSM
infrastructure, it provides ASCI including intensified
multi-priority eMLPP, VGCS and VBS and also provides scheduling
operation specialized for railway including function addressing,
function number representation, access matrix and addressing based
on location. Based on this informatization platform, the users of
railway department can develop every application systems of
railway. Fig **3 is the structure chart of operation model of GSM-R
system. So the operation model of GSM-R system can be generalized
as follows:
GSM-R Operation = GSM Operation + ASCI + Railway Application
GSM-R cab integrated communication equipment is applied to railway
GSM-R system and is fixed on the cab used by engine driver. The
equipment replaces the former wireless train scheduling
communication system and provides voice and data transmission
channel between cab and station.
