Liquid laminate Top Coat (patent pending PL*****5) is an universal
water-soluble lacquer designed to laminate every kind of
printouts.
It is mainly used to secure inkjet printouts against harmful
influence of ultra-violet (UV) radiation, mechanical damages and
damages caused
by industrial environmental pollution.
Liquid laminate Top Coat can also be applied to obtain a glossy and
smooth surface of every printout, photograph, graphics and other
artistic
products, with their simultaneous self-protection against the
influence of harmful weather conditions. Liquid laminate Top Coat
protects printouts made on nearly all media, for example PVC,
banners, canvas covers, tarpaulin, metal, glass, ceramics, stone
and wood.
Appropriate liquid laminate Top Coat gives to printout required
degree of gloss: matt, satin, semi-gloss and gloss.
Properties of liquid laminate Top Coat are as follows:
- Perfectly transparent, coated printout is more expressive and
with vivid colors, no cracks, not yellowishing, no laminate
breaking, no wrap-around, undergo the same deformation as media
(flexible), ecological.
Suitable applications are:
- Self adhesive vinyl films, canvas, vehicle graphics, indoor and
outdoor banner displays, papers, rigid indoor displays, rigid
outdoor displays, pop-up displays, backlit displays.
Liquid laminate Top Coat protects printouts made using the
following ink technologies:
- Mild solvent, eco solvent, hard solvent, water based dye and
pigmented ink, sublimation transfer, screen ink, UV-curable,
flexography.
Liquid laminate Top Coat is prepared on the basis of water acrylic
dispersion. The lacquer is water-soluble and after drying time
becomes
waterproof. It creates a thin very elastic/flexible homogeneous,
smooth matt, satin or gloss layer on the printout. The lacquer was
designed
using latest technologies, to obtain perfect resistance of coated
by lacquer printouts against UV radiation, large temperature
fluctuations, wind, a sand in the air carried by wind, fog, salt
and nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere, respectively.
Using liquid laminate Top Coat is one of the most popular method of
protecting vehicle graphics. The Prim Jet Color’s liquid laminate
is the
ideal solution enabling you to enhance the image of any vehicle.
The laminate is highly flexible, suitable for long-term outdoor
applications
and ideal for application on curved and uneven surfaces. It is
scratch-resistant and a car can be wash mechanically.
Self-cleaning laminate Top Coat is a specific type of liquid
laminate giving a surface which keeps itself free of dirt and grime
through natural processes. The surface of laminated printout cleans
itself in two stages. The photocatalytic stage of the process
breaks down the organic dirt on the laminated printout using
ultraviolet light in sunlight (even on overcast days) and makes the
printout hydrophilic. Next rain washes away the dirt (raindrops
roll easily across such a surface), leaving almost no streaks,
because hydrophilic printout spreads the water evenly over its
surface.
Top Coat can be applied by using compressed air (by paint-gun), by
roller for dense acrylic lacquer or by laminator. Using roller for
dense acrylic lacquer one can cover with lacquer Top Coat up to *0
m2 of printout. Using paint-gun or laminator the coated by lacquer
area can be about *0 m2.
Standard thickness of lacquer film on a printout is about *0 μm. On
flexible media (e.g. flags, T-shirts) we recommend the value *0 μm
as a
proper film thickness.
An operating range of temperatures for coated by lacquer Top Coat
printout is from −*0°C to **0°C.
Firm Prim Jet Color closely co-operates with the Customers for the
purpose of the adaptation of lacquer composition to the Customers
individual demands and the needs.
Tests proved that the lacquer Top Coat increases resistance to UV
radiation inkjet ink printouts about *8 months up to 5 years
(depending on
the kind of lacquer).
Lacquer Top Coat widens gamut of colors of the printout, which
seems to be more expressive and sharp. Lacquer Top Coat does not
alter color (it does not become yellow).
