Hydrochloric acid vapor irritates the upper respiratory tract and the mucus membranes of the eye. Causes acid burn on contact with skin. Maximum permissible concentration of hydrochloric acid vapor in the air of work area is 5 mg/m3. Classified as a second grade hazard (highly hazardous substance).
