The use of Mixed butanol and Octanol:
Mixed
butanol is an important organic raw material with wide uses, mainly
in producing Dibutyl phthalate, Fatty dicarboxylic acid, Butyl
acetate, and Butyl acrylate etc. It can also be used as solvent,
dewaxing agents of organic dyes, paint and printing inks.
Octanol is mainly used in producing plasticizers of di-octyl PhthalateDOP) and dioctyl Adipate (DOA), *-Ethylhexyl acrylate (Acrylic acid**-ethyl hexyl ester) and surfactant etc. DOP is chiefly used as plasticizers of PVC. *-Ethylhexyl acrylate can be used as materials of adhesives and surface coatings and nitric acid ester, oil additives, surfactant, and solvent.
