Properties:
  

PTA is white needle crystal or powder. Proportion is 1.*1, sublimation is 
**0?,selfignition point is **0?. Soluble in hot ethanol, slightly soluble in 
water, insoluble in ether, chloroform, and glacial acetic acid. Low toxic, 
flammable. The dust and air formate explosive mixture, the explosion limit 
0.*5 g/L ~ *2.5 g/L.

 
Storage and Transportation:

PTA product transportation should prevent fire, moisture, static electricity. 
Bag product handling should be lightly, prevent packing damage; Vehicle 
handling should pay attention to the control speed, prevent to the static 
electricity. PTA dust can be exploded. Therefore, the production process 
and the loading and unloading should be in airtight operation, workplace 
shall take necessary ventilation and protective measures to prevent leaks 
and dust accumulate.

Applications:   

PTA is mainly used in the production of polyester products, including polyethylene 
terphthalate (PET), follows reaction with glycol, reagent for alkali in wool and an 
additive to poultry feeds. PTA is the key raw material for the manufacture of 
polyester fiber, resin, and film. It can be found in plastic containers for beverages, 
food and electronics, apparel, home textiles, carpets and industrial fibre products, 
and audio and video recording tapes, photographic films and labels.
