Conventional acidizing working solution is mainly composed of
hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid.� Because of the fast
reaction with formation, they are consumed very quickly therefore
only affect the formation in a short distance, reducing the
efficiency of operation. With the addition of retarding agent in
working fluid, the effective distance of the acid is prolonged.
Retarding agent contains surfactant that is easily absorbed by
formation, preventing reaction between acid and rock formation
therefore serve the purpose of slow down the acidizing process.
