Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium is the sodium salt of the sulfated
linear glycosaminoglycan obtained from bovine, porcine, or avian
cartilages of healthy and domestic animals used for food by humans.
Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium consists mostly of the sodium salt of
the sulfate ester of N-acetylchondrosamine(*-acetamido**-deoxy-β
-D-galactopyranose)and D-glucuronic acid copolymer. These hexoses
are alternately linked β *1, 4 and β *1, 3 in the polymer. The
prevalent glycosaminoglycans are designated chondroitin sulfate
sodium A, containing N-acetylchondrosamine**-O-sulfate, and
chondroitin sulfate sodium C, containing
N-acetylchondrosamine**-O-sulfate. It contains not less than*0.0
percent and not more than **5.0 percent of total glycosaminoglycans
as chondroitin sulfate sodium, calculated on the dried
basis.
Use:
As a kind of mucoitin, chondroitin sulfate can be employed as
material of health-care medicine and cosmetic products. Enjoying
favorable anti-senium function, it is also used as additive to
cosmetic products and foods. After deep processing, it is adaptable
to the treatment of nervous headache, neuralgia, arthralgia,
migraine, arteriosckerisis as well as dysacusia caused by
streptomycin and hepatitis etc. Without any side effect.
