chaps to synthetic chaps there is a pair of chaps for
every riders needs. Half chaps are worn with Jodhpur boots and
cover the leg from the below the knee to the ankle with a strap
that goes under the boot, and they are available in a variety of
colours. Half chaps offer protection to the lower leg from
the stirrup leathers they also prevent jodhpurs from riding up
the lower leg whilst riding.
Full chaps were first used by cowboys to protect the whole leg
whilst working, they consist of two independent leg coverings,
fastened at the waist by a belt and are worn over jodhpurs. Full
chaps help keep the legs warm and dry whilst riding during the
winter.
