Special Visit :German ship owner and General
Manager Mr.Christian Schulz of Phoenix Reederei ,Germany Visited
the Shipyard on 9th June, ***1 for odering construction and
delivery of few Oil Tanker.
Location
:KBSBL is located on the river Meghna, about **0 km from
the sea and close to the capital city Dhaka. The hub is
turning into a major shuipbuilding zone of the country. KBSBL is
opposite to Ananda Shipyard & Slipyard & Slipways Ltd and
**0 MW Meghanaghat Power Plant.
Contract for Construction and Delivery of ***0 DWT GL Class Oil
Tanker (for inland waters) has been signed on *9th May, ***1
between Khan Brothers Shipbuilding Ltd. and Accord Shipping Ltd.
The contract has been signed by Mr. Tofayel Kabir Khan, Managing
Director of Khan Brothers Shipbuilding Ltd. and Mr. A. M. Mahmud,
Managing Director of Accord Shipping Ltd. The contract has been
signed at Shaan Tower, Shantinagar, Dhaka (office premeses of
KBSBL).
ORDER :The Vessel
will be *6 meter long. Cargo oil capacity will be ***0 tons of
Diesel Oil or ***0 tons of HFO. Maximum speed will be *1.*5 knots,
economy speed will be *0.*0 knots. This ship would be capable
of night navigation having all navigation equipment as per Inland
navigation. Hull will be eighter GL or Class NK. For piping,
each tank will be loaded or offloaded separately or simultaneously
as required, there will be sufficient necessary valves as per
class. Navigation and communication equipments are GPS, VHF, Radar,
Speedlog, Magnetic Compass, Manual Foghorn, Gyro Compass, Rudder
Indicator, General Alarm, Binoculars etc. The Vessel will be
delivery within *2 months.
Certification : Mr.Tofayel Kabir Khan,
Managing Director of Khan Brothers Shipbuilding Ltd. and Mr. C.F.
Zaman, Principal Surveyor and Deputy District Manager for
Bangladesh, India & Sri Lanka, has signed a contract for
construction and delivery of *0 GL Class Certified oil Tanker on
9th June, ***1.
Opned by :Honorable Minister of Finance Mr. A M A
Muhith Inaugurates the largest shipyard (Khan Brothers Shipbuilding
Ltd.) on 3rd March, ***2 in the Inauguration Ceremony. Honorable
Minister of Industries Mr. Dilip Borua was with him. Also, many
important personnel and Foreign Delegates were present in the
ceremony. Among them, Mr. M Idris Ali (MP of Parliament), Mr. A. K.
Azad (President of FBCCI), H.E. Mr. Holger Michael (Germany
Ambassador), H.E. Mr. Svend Olling (Denmark Ambassador) were
the special guest. Inauguration Ceremony was started at *1 A.M.
