Based on the structure and appearance, the petroleum coke can be classified into the needle coke, the sponge coke,the pill coke and the breeze coke. According to the content of sulphur, the petroleum coke can be used in aluminium factories to produce anode paste and graphite pole in steel and iron factories. And the low-sulphur coke (0.5% of sulphur)of high quality can be used to manufacture graphite pole and an agent to increase charcoal.The low-sulphur coke (less than 1.5%of sulphur) of normal quality is usually used to bake anode. The petroleum coke of low quality is mainly used in smelting the industrial sillicon and producing anode paste. The high-sulphur coke can be used as fuels in cement factories and electricity factories.
