It is a silver-white metal. Its density at 5.**4 g/cm3, melting point at *9.*8 °C and boiling point at  ***3 °C. It appears soft, crisp and acts stable in the air. It can be dissolved in acid and alkali if being heated and reacts violently with boiling water at the same time. It is preferably stored in plastic containers.
