Wood sculpture process:
 
Select a log or stick that has moderate moisture,if the wood is too wet,it is difficult to carve,if it is too dry,it may crack during the carving process.Draw a basic outline of your sculpture as a guide.Its purpose is to direct your wood removal when you begin the project.Romove outer wood with a mallet and flat chisel.The outer wood is the wood you won’t be needing in your sculpture.Carve in the details after defining the shape of your sculpture. Sand and finish your sculpture.Use progressively fine sandpaper,from coarse to extra fine, to smoothen the surface the work. Finished could be polished or painted.
