Generally in Petrochemical industry for flanges
and pipe lines and pump connections Stud Bolts and Hex Bolts are
used, their grades and choice of stud bolts depends largely on the
application of the site, the temperature in that area, the medium
which is being transported in the pipe line and the pressure on the
whole equipment on which these bolts are to be mounted. The Stud
Bolt is a end to end threaded rod which is fitted with 2 heavy
hexagon nuts, where as the Hex Bolt has a head one end and is
fitted with one nut along with washers on the other
end.
