Harry Bertoia(********8) Born in Udine,Italy,HE emigrated with his
family to America is ***0.IN ***6,he graduated from the Cass
Technical High school ,Detroit and from ***7 to ***9 trained
on a scholarship at the Canbrook Academy of Arts. He established
the metalworking studio there and as head of that department taught
from ********3.Later,he worked with Eames at the Evans Products
Company developing techniques for moulding plywood.His innovative
wire chairs designed for Knoll international in ***1 were so
commercially successful that the royalties from his group of
designs allowed him to concentrate solely on his sculpting
career.
