Window is a piece of glass with plane parallel
surfaces. It is used to isolate different physical environments
while allowing light to pass. The environments may vary widely in
temperature, pressure, chemical composition, phase or cleanliness.
When selecting the appropriate windows the optical, mechanical and
thermal properties must be considered according to the intended
use.
Advance Optics offers a wide range of sizes and
materials including BK7, UV Fused Silica, Crystal Quartz, Sapphire,
MgF2, CaF2, Silicon(Si), Germanium(Ge),
etc.
Note: High
precision are also available Coating is available upon
request.
1.
BK7 Window
BK7 is a borosilicate crown optical glass
with high homogeneity and low bubble and inclusion content. It is
good performance over visible and near IR spectrum for most
application.
2.Fused Silica Window Fused silica is formed by chemical combination
of silicon and oxygen. Advantages of fused silica material include
good UV and IR transmission, low thermal expansion, providing
stability and resistance to thermal shock and high laser damage
threshold.
3.
Sapphire Window
Sapphire is a single crystal aluminum oxide or
Al2O3 and is one of the hardest materials. It has good transmission
characteristics over the visible and near IR spectrum. Sapphire
exhibits high mechanical strength, chemical resistance and thermal
stability.
4. CaF2
Window CaF2 is a crystal, which has good transmission
from **0 nm to ***0 nm. It\'s slightly soluble in water and
susceptible to thermal shock. It is commonly used in IR
components.
