What is a recessed down light?
‘Is a light fixture that is installed into a hollow opening in a
ceiling, when installed it appears to have light shining from a
whole in the ceiling, concentrating the light in a downward
direction as a broad floodlight or narrow spotlight’.
There are two parts that make up a recessed down light which are
the trim and the housing. When looking at a recessed down light the
trim is the visible part of the light when looking directly towards
the fixture which also includes a thin lining around the edge of
the light. And the housing is basically the whole fixture itself
that is inserted into the ceiling that contains a lamp holder.
Common uses for a recessed down light can be in both a residential
or commercial environment when trying to create an ambient and
directional lighting affect. Just like many other LED products
