Quicklime
The High Calcium Quicklime or Calcium
Oxide, is got by calcareous stone coming from selected deposits of
white and alkaline calcium carbonate, with regular crystals having
a content of CaCO3upper
to *8%. The calcium oxide is got submitting the calcium carbonate
to ***0°C over, for a determined time, in special kilns in which
the following reaction is developped:
CaCO3+ T °C
= CaO + CO2
The superior qualities of high calcium
quicklime may be used in various productive processes finalized to
neutralize acids, sulphides and sulphates, absorption of oils,
grounds stabilization, in steel industry and in the industries of
the constructions generally. The quicklime has a esothermic
reaction when it comes into contact with water. The Minermix

USES
In
Steel Industry it is mainly used for the removal of the sulphur,
both alone and in combination with others minerals in various sizes
and introduced in the warm metal. In Building Constructions it is
used, for its chemical-physics characteristics of binder, previous
slaking in water, as aggreging agent of sands or of various
aggregates materials. In the Industry of Lime Paint, as milk of
lime or aid of various pigmentations. In the constructions of
Roads, Ports, Airports, Railroads as stabilizing agent of the
underlying grounds through a simple mixing and compaction of the
aggregates, especially if they clayey. In Ecology and Environment
it is used for the removal of sulphides on the flue gas, in the
wastewaters clarification and in waters (food using) potabilization
treatment. In Agriculture as soil conditioner is used to neutralize
acidity of the acid soil, as bactericidal for rural environments
disinfestation, breeding barns, cultivations generally and in the
Biological Agriculture. It is an essential element in sugar
production.
