Potassium silicate glass is a colorless super cooled melt of potassium carbonate and pure silica sand. It is free flowing if stored in the original drum after opening. It is slightly hygroscopic. Potassium silicate solutions are prepared by dissolving potassium silicate glass in hot water. This solution produces different products having different properties.
