Biotin-PEG*-Azide is non-cleavable, azide-activated biotinylation
reagent that reacts with terminal alkynes via a copper-catalyzed
click reaction to produce a stable triazole linkage. It also reacts
with cyclooctynes via a copper-free click chemistry reaction to
form a stable triazole and does not require Cu-catalyst or elevated
temperatures. This reaction is bioorthogonal or in other words
compatible with biological systems in that it′s components do not
react with the biological environment. This reagent is also know as
Biotin-Azide.
