NADH Shuttle Mechanisms
An additional consideration is the access of NADH to complex I in
the respiratory chain. In animal cells, the NADH must approach
complex I from the matrix side of the mitochondrial inner membrane.
This is not a problem for NADH generatedinside the mitochondrial
matrix by pyruvate dehydrogenase or the citric acid cycle
