NADP is a coenzyme called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide
phosphate, also known as pyridine triphosphate (TPN) or
co-dehydrogenase II or oxidized coenzyme II. However, it is not
necessarily able to react with many dehydrogenases that utilize
NAD, nor can it be directly oxidized by the respiratory chain.
Unlike NAD, it exists mainly in a reduced state in the cells of
aerobic organisms.
