Petroleum coke
(petcoke) is regularly
produced as a by-product of crude oil refining, especially from
heavy crudes commonly produced in Canada. While some forms of
petcoke are useful for steel making or other speciality purposes,
it is often stockpiled in large quantities as a waste product.
