Our battery analyzers can service different rechargeable battery chemistries ranging from Nickel to Lithium to Sealed-Lead Acid. Voltage range from 1.2v to *6v (selected model). Most of the time, we rely on the duration of use from the date of inception as a rough gauge of battery condition. (Assumption: The longer we had the battery, the poorer its performance). However, as your battery population grows, it becomes more and more difficult to ascertain that 'older batteries would not be as good the newer ones'. That's because the life cycles used (# of charge & discharge cycle) and battery treatment (Mishandling, overcharging, exposure to extreme heat, etc) is not uniform throughout the large battery population. With the analyzer, you will be able to sort and group them according to your operational needs and save you $$$ on premature replacements base on date of inception.
