ABS high rubber powder

Physical properties

1. The rubber content can reach to ****5%. In producing general ABS, only ****8% high rubber powder are needed to reach required index, while using low rubber powder, ****3% are needed, so using high rubber powder ABS can reduce cost.

2. With high nitrile content between ****8%, high rubber powder ABS has strong polarity, easy to dye, good chemical resistance, and other advantages. ABS produced with this powder has strong rigidity and good glossiness.

3. High distortion temperature.

General ABS produced by high rubber powder can highly increase distortion temperature to ****5℃, which is much higher than national standard. It has obvious advantages compared with other products produced by other companies.

4. High melting index.
ABS produced with high rubber powder has higher melting index which can increase flowability and processibility.
 

General application:

1. It can be made into general ABS and mixed directly with SAN to granulating. It is recommended to be used in Daqing SAN***7, Guoheng SAN***8, because their nitrile content is well matched with high rubber powder, which is also in line with the similar compatible rule. Mixing proportion is usually in ****8:****2 to reach the ideal physical properties (other agents are added as usual: interior lubricant 0.**1.0, external lubricant about 0.5, anti-oxidant about 0.3). Actually, nowadays native ABS manufacturers apply emulsion grafting SAN mixing method to get ABS rubber powder and mixing with SAN, so there are Daqing, Xinhu, Guoheng, Taihua and other different brands of high rubber powder in the market. That is because ABS high rubber powder belongs to its upstream products, it can be made into downstream ABS and also can be sold as finish products.

2. It also can be used to make into modified ABS products. Just as to make general ABS, it needs to be mixed with SAN. The only difference is it needs to add other agent when mixing, such as when make antiflaming ABS, it needs to add flame retardant and flame retardant synergist, (typical formula is: ABS powder *0%**0%,SAN, flame retardant, agent *0%****0%). When make heat-resisting ABS, it needs to add extra heat resist component. When make glass fiber ABS, it needs to add glass fiber padding.
 

3. It can be used to make ABS alloy products, such as PC/ABS alloy, PA/ABS alloy, PMMA/ABS alloy. The alloy material is just to mix two or many kinds of materials in such a proper proportion to take all the advantages and offset the disadvantages and finally to obtain a new material with much better properties. As one of the component ABS, it needs both SAN and high rubber powder. The only difference is it takes a small proportion in the alloy, such as when make PC alloy, it needs ***2 portion of high rubber powder( typical formula is: ABS powder *0%**0%, SAN, PC, agent *0%****0%), in the performance index, when impact reached to **0J/m, distortion temperature is **0℃, Rockwell hardness is about **0.

4. Toughen ABS feed back and PC/ABS feed back. No matter fresh material or feed backs, the impact strength comes from rubber powder. As in the feed backs, the butadiene in rubber is aging, the impact strength decreased severely, but it can be regain through adding new rubber powder.

5. It can be used as toughen PVC and PC material.
