PHOSPHITES activate plant natural defense responses. Defense reactions are related to the production of toxic substances by fungi around damaged areas and to the formation of tissue protection layers such as callus or cork.

Some of the chemical agents thus produced are found in concentrations high enough to inhibit the development of most bacteria and fungi but, generally, these substances are not synthetized until an infection, damage or fungi secretions occurs. These agents include phytoalexins, produced by plants to

defend itself from fungal attacks.

AXEB PHOSPHITES are easily absorbed and distributed throughout the plant to accelerate phytoalexin production after fungi contact. Plants treated with AXEB PHOSPHITES have similar responses to pathogen infections than cultivars which are resistant to that pathogen attack.
